Black boats harks back to a time when working watercraft were often, of necessity, coated with tar, a cheap preservative.

My interest in boats and woodworking is encapsulated in simplicity, function and form often inherant in working boats and rural handcrafts.

With simple tools I make new, beautiful,  useful objects that are indentifiable and interconnect with my ancestral european background.

This fascination with simple functional woodware has led to an electic handcrafted range of items viz. boats,  nautical accoutrements, weather vanes, gates, garden furniture and tools.
